Sen. Jerry Moran, R- Kan., left, listens to Travis Young, president and CEO of Vortex Global, explain how the company designs and manufactures components. A company that was founded more than 40 years ago, Vortex Global, has stayed in the family and in Salina, and for Sen. Jerry Moran, R-Kan., who toured the company's headquarters Friday, that is a rare and important component for communities in Kansas. While it is currently under the leadership of president and CEO Travis Young, Moran said he remembers talking with Young's father, Lee Young, who founded the company in 1977 with his father-in-law.
