Being a sports writer wasn't in the playing cards for me while in college. I always wanted to get into radio and do play-by-play of sports after my experiences at Butler Community College and The University of Kansas. After six years of being a sports reporter, three years at The Emporia Gazette and nearly three for the Salina Journal, I get the opportunity to pursue a radio career beginning next month.On Monday, I will start my new job for Emporia Radio Stations, Inc. as an on-air personality/play-by-play announcer.
