Those walking in Jerry Ivey Memorial Park may notice its pond looking a little more clear in the next few weeks, as the location was chosen for a project to address the blue-green algae problem it has faced for years. The process to get this project going began earlier this year after the Kansas Department of Health and Environment reached out to the City of Salina."They reached out to us a few months ago about a device that's from a company that they wanted to introduce into Kansas," said Jeff Hammond, the director of Salina Parks and Recreation.
